Downstairs For BLAZE OF GLORY’S March outing we're very happy to be hosting a little birthday party for a few of our friends:  CHIBUKU SHAKE SHAKE are ten!  After some truly amazing parties featuring the likes of Carl Craig, Francois K, Kenny Dope & Gilles Peterson,  the Liverpool institution has made it to ten years of legenday nights, no mean feat we think!

There's a lot of London history here too, for those that can remember, with Chibuku holding down a weekly residency at The Social back in the day, for a number of very debauched years! We welcome along the trusty residents, all looking as fresh faced as when they began (ahem).  The rogues gallery stars: DOM CHUNG, PHAT PHIL COOPER, LUKE CARR & LEO BELCHETZ playing upstairs & down to kick off the birthday weekend in style. Blaze of Glory & Tirk Records residents MATTY J & BEN TERRY will as ever be orchestrating the disco and kicking everyone out to Fabric at the end.

Downstairs AUTODISCO is Dicky Trisco & iamelectron and they head south once again for their monthly night at The Social. The boys will be serving up their unique fusion of disco, house, electrofunk, bespoke edits, nu synth stuff and plenty of Balearic gems. The Times recently wrote that “Autodisco is at the tip of the UK’s disco scene…” and placed their night alongside HMD, Disco Bloodbath and El Diablo’s as one of the countries main players. With their popular club night, their busy booking schedule and their ever expanding stable of record labels, the Autodisco DJs have world domination firmly in their sights.  They are now joined by ADRIAN COGGER as London resident.

The Boy Who Trapped The Sun funnily enough, isn’t his real name. Colin MacLeod - for it is he - is a singer-songwriter from the Isle of Lewis.  He was discovered swinging round the rafters of an Aberdeen bar, dishing out Deep Purple covers and, he says, “generally acting like an arse”, but soon he jacked in his job as a salmon fisherman and moved to London to become a solo artist and an adult.  His first album, due this summer, is a Coming of Age record with a difference – for having journeyed to London to broaden his horizons, The Boy spent two years writing about the land he’d left behind, acutely chronicling the transition, and cross-pollinating the Gaelic lure of the Isle of Lewis with the clinging claustrophobia of the cosmopolitan.  Doors 7pm-12am - £5 entry
