The Van T’s
2016 was a breakout year for the twin sister led four-piece Glaswegian surf-rock band ‘The Van Ts’.
Having released their EP ‘A Coming of Age’ to critical acclaim in July gaining premiere’s on Huw Stephens BBC Radio Introducing show, Noisey, Consequence of Sound, Clash Magazine and a slot on Spotify’s ‘Hot New Bands’ playlist the band’s name began to resonate from the UK to the US and beyond.
The most recent single ‘Fun Garcon’ secured a premier with music blog Dork completed what had been a wonderful year for the band.
Having supported Yuck, Sunflower Bean on their recent UK tours and Rat Boy personally selecting the band to support him at his Glasgow show this followed a stellar festival season which saw the band headline T in the Park’s BBC Introducing stage and gain slots at Electric Fields, Stag & Dagger and Twisterella where they picked up further support form the likes of The Scotsman, Beat Surrender, Backseat Mafia, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing Scotland, where they recently performed a superb live session, and culminated in a nomination at this years Scottish Alternative Music Awards.
Rainbrother are back with another majestic, dream-folk single, Fat Eggs, out now via General Bird Records.
Frontman Bjarke Bendtsen explains “Fat Eggs is a song about giving into late night temptations, lusts, desires and the beauty of being human. The song is also about not caring too much and eating fat eggs when they’re on your plate and still hot”. The single, taken from Rainbrother’s debut album Tales From The Drought, feels instantly intriguing with its use of beautiful, spiralling out of key guitars and flawless harmonies.
