#STDRUMS is Yuji “Rerure” Kawaguchi’s drum solo project from Japan. Yuji has travelled all over the world whilst busking with his “D.I.Y.” custom made suitcase drum kit, which has landed him here, in London.
His sound ranges from melodic tracks that fuse prog rock, drum’n’bass, electronica & acid jazz, with inspiration from the likes of Led Zeppelin & King Crimson.
Yuji overturns the concept of what a ‘drum solo’ set can be, with crescendos reaching heights described as “drums beaten to exhaustion at unlimited speeds”.
In recent years, Yuji joined as a support drummer for the legendary Susumu Hirasawa, music composer for the iconic animation movies: PAPRIKA & BERSERK.
He also supported Battles on their Japan tour and performed at Japan’s biggest festival “FUJI ROCK `21” & again in ‘23!
His two albums “Just a Phenomenon” & “Lotus Root” are available online now (along with various live street performance videos) and they are choc full of jazzy, prog rocky & sometimes dancey madness, that twists n turns your ears around the calm & chaos of a drum kit.
Yuji is performing one of his last London shows for a while at this Fracas & he assures that “you will experience a mouthful of drums in your ears!”

Born out of an impromptu late night studio session, itsmyluckyday the brainchild of Rafi George and Die Katze. Traversing the boundaries of folk, rock and electronic synths, their music exists in a place somewhere between dreaming and waking.

Tawai makes fingerstyle-guitar driven, earthy, ambient alternative folk with world influences, electronic experimentation and searching vocals. His self-produced releases draw on global samples and multi-textured, reverb-heavy string sections, and this year has seen him develop these ideas into an engaging live setup, with performances at SJQ, The Social, Soul & Sanctuary and Come Bye Festival.
