Form & PNKSLM Recordings present a very special label showcase night at The Social, presenting three of the most exciting bands on the cult Swedish record labels’ notorious roster. All three artists are from the label’s hometown Stockholm, and all making their debut UK appearances. As you’d expect from PNKSLM, the genre’s flip between alt-pop, 70’s inspired glam rock, and lo-fi punk.
SIBILLE ATTAR
The Stockholm-based artist, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has long been one of Sweden’s most acclaimed artists with her distinct brand of alternative pop, while also collaborating with some of the nation’s biggest names, as well as working as a composer for plays at the prestigious Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm.
Fiercely independent, she now returns with her fourth LP – a self-produced love opus titled “Amor Fati.” Self-produced, it begins euphoric, gets complicated fast, and refuses to simplify itself for anyone’s convenience.
GONE FUTURE
A new project featuring members of Swedish indie-rock royalty Dolores Haze, Mando Diao and Dead Vibrations, it’s no surprise Gone Future emerge so fully-formed on ‘Nightcap’, a swaggeringly heavy, psych-tinged maelstrom that serves as an ode to misspent nights on the tiles. Across their previous projects, the members of Gone Future have a glittering CV already: having received international press acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, The Line of Best Fit and Stereogum, performed at festivals including End of the Road, Iceland Airwaves, The Great Escape and Eurosonic, and toured across the continent to a devoted following.
STEPHANIE GILBERT
Stephanie Gilbert’s new music comes from her love of early glam rock, french ye ye girl music, and 60s psychedelic rock, showcased perfectly by her debut single Seven Boats.
As her first outing as a solo artist, Stephanie focuses on crafting tales of mystical origins. Forest creatures, an inner cosmic-trooper, a calling electric lord, liquid jelly skies in purple, silver, royal blue and textures of velvet, satin and gold drape the worlds she creates out of her fascination with magic and the subconscious.
