Unearthed: A new live music series spotlighting British Asian artists, this time we are joined by London rising stars and BBC Introducing supported artists: Nikhil Beats and Asha Gold. This duo, also good friends, will bring their together heritage, music passion and plenty of fun to bring you a truly special show.
Nikhil Beats is an artist-producer hailing from East London, who is carving out his own British-Asian sound. With an East meets West hybrid music style, Nikhil Beats, blends his Indian heritage with a modern sonic palette heavily influenced by London’s flourishing underground music scene – a sound that cannot be put into a box. His multi-instrumentalist approach to his music often takes the listener on an unexpected journey, characterised by soulful melodies and surprise beat drops.
Asha Gold blends silky pop melodies with contemporary R&B production. The thriving Londoner harnesses the cool power of the city as well as the essence of her Indian heritage to create an infectious sound as new and exciting as she is. As ever, her sound is backed by a fresh array of modern R&B, 808 beats, mood setting piano and Asha Gold’s stunning, velvety voice. Asha’s sound is deeply personal yet instantly accessible, as shown by the connection she has developed with the tastemakers who have come across her music.
