o celebrate International Women’s Day 2025, we have curated a lineup of some of our favourite female artists, with all proceeds going to Refuge, an amazing charity that helps women escape situations of domestic abuse.

We’ll be kicking things off at 2pm with readings from Gamine Girl and live music from Esme White, Yama Warashi, Iko Cherie and Bella Unwin. We’ll also have killer DJ sets from Token Girl DJs, Groundskeeper Lily and PEA SWIRL.

Iko Chérie is experimental pop made by French artist Marie Merlet. Her world is one of woozy incantations, Casio drones, reverb drenched guitars and gleaned spoken word samples.

Yama Warashi (‘Mountain Spirit’ in Japanese) is the project from Japanese artist Yoshino – the music is inspired by Japanese folk, free jazz, tribal African and psychedelic music.

Kathleen Lodge is a writer, artist and bartender. Gamine Girl– a caring satire of the modern women’s ‘inner’ voice- renders her readers (and listeners) eavesdroppers, as much as confidants, doomed to relate to her stories of disappointing dates and unrequited employment.

Esme White sings haunted spaghetti western tunes. A guitar slinger with a love for storytelling, she writes songs about the ugly angels, dust, dystopia and other oddities.

Bedroom pop artist Bella Unwin has been making beeps, boops and funky loops since 2015, feeding into her DJ sensibilities where she plays an eclectic mix of synth baselines and funky riffs from around the world.
