Emma Warren’s book Make Some Space tells the story of under-the-radar venue Total Refreshment Centre, a place with a remarkable history that includes a period where it ran as a Caribbean social club and its beginnings as a chocolate factory.
The book argues for space, especially grassroots, people-propelled spaces where we can be welcomed as versions of ourselves that we recognise.
